The Ar Turas Ancestry Research Service can prepare your family tree. We start from a known Scottish event, such as a birth, marriage or death, preferably after 1855 but we can use an earlier event if this is all you have. Ar Turas can go backwards into history using all available records.

Ar Turas will undertake research into your family history and chart your family tree. We are interested in providing as complete a picture as possible of your ancestors, using all the available evidence. We will consult sources (as appropriate) such as statutory certificates, census returns, old parish registers, grave stone inscriptions, Post Office directories and wills.

The clock tower, West LintonResults of the ancestry research service can only be as good as the records: civil registration was brought in during 1855 and the certificates contain a great deal of information. Before this time we are dependent on the Old Parish Registers and these are only as good as the clerks who compiled them. We would aim to take your line back in time until the trail runs cold.

Ar Turas will provide you with a hand-written manuscript style family tree along with a full report of the ancestry research undertaken and details of the information found. We provide full transcriptions of documents.

If you require your family tree for a special occasion, such as a family reunion, please let us know at the time of your order. We will do everything within our power to accommodate such deadlines. Normally, you can expect results within 6 to 8 weeks.

Ar Turas offer a variety of options for completing your Ancestry Research. Just click on the buttons on the left to get things started.
