Ar
Turas
was founded in 1996 by its proprietor Rosaline Furnivall. Rosaline
is a Scottish Ethnology honours graduate of the School of Scottish Studies at
Edinburgh University. She is a professional genealogist and researcher focusing
mainly on Scotland and the Scots.
Born in Edinburgh
in 1958, Rosaline is passionate about Scotland, Scottish culture and Scottish
heritage and through Ar Turas is able to bring Scotland to people all
over the world.
The name Ar
Turas comes from Rosaline's take on genealogy. When she works on projects
for customers she embarks on a journey, taking the client through their Scottish
heritage and, through the genealogy plus service, bringing that history and
heritage to life. Unlike other companies, nothing is hidden with our research.
Everything we find is provided as part of the finished project.
Put
simply, Ar Turas is from the Gaelic for Our Journey.
