Ar Turas

Scottish Ancestry Research

I have been researching my own family history for over 20 years. What a mixed bag it is, with one Dundee branch stuck in the mid nineteenth century and another branch right back to the 1580s in Fife. Many lines have hit brick walls in the 1700s but it remains a work in progress!

I've been working on professional commissions for 20 years and am always thrilled to help people understand more about where they come from and who they are.

I'm an honours graduate of the School of Scottish Studies at the University of Edinburgh and also have a Masters degree in Philosophy. So you can be assured that I have a deep understanding of Scottish culture across time and a meticulous attention to detail.

'Ar Turas' is Gaelic for 'Our Journey' which I hope represents the life journeys made by your ancestors and your own journey to meet them. I look forward to working with you. Please take a look around the site and the services offered. If these don't fit your particular requirements just contact me and we can discuss your project.

The thing that interests me most about family history is the gap between the things we think we know about our families and the realities.
